Twenty six Winstanley College students have graduated from The National Citizenship Service Summer and Autumn programmes. The adventurous, community spirited ‘NCSers’ contributed over 700 volunteering hours to a variety of different charities across Wigan and Leigh: a truly fantastic achievement.
Those who took part, experienced living away from home, staying in outdoor activity centres and university halls, where they took part in challenging activities, worked as a team, and learned a new skill from industry professionals. In the final phase of the programme, the students designed and implemented their own social action project.
Daniel Hartridge, NCS Team Leader was delighted by the response of Winstanley students commenting: ’This remarkable accomplishment will look fantastic on UCAS personal statements, and should be an immense source of pride to those involved. We look forward to welcoming more Winstanley students onto the programme in Summer 2017.’
