Hollywood Boulevard was graced with some extra special VIPs last week, when students from Winstanley College took the Walk of Fame. The students, who are studying Film and/or Media A-level, visited the iconic landmark during a fun-filled trip to LA.
The week-long visit also included a VIP Warner Bros Tour, where students got to visit The Ellen Show, find out what house they would be in at Hogwarts and sit on the Friends sofa in Central Perk.
Universal Studios theme park was another must do on the itinerary as was Paramount Pictures, the original Disney back lot studios, the Muppet Studios and a chance to get 360 degree views of LA from the Griffith Observatory (famously used in the film Rebel Without a Cause).
Bev Breary, Assistant Head of Media, accompanied the students to LA. She said: ‘LA was a fab trip enjoyed by all. The hotel was in a great location on Sunset Boulevard and was in walking distance of the main attractions.
As an extra treat we got to watch the LA marathon as the route went by our hotel. As well as this we went to Venice Beach, Beverly Hills and La Puebla. The students’ behaviour, attitude and enthusiasm were exemplary and are a credit to the college. ‘
