Winstanley College Donates Easter Eggs to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
Winstanley College students and staff members generously donated a number of Easter eggs to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital as part of ‘The Alder Hey Egg Run 2018’ which took place on the 25th March.
The eggs were collected by Ian Brunning and Colin Hoggins, members of Bike Marshals, an organisation which supports a range of charities, providing specialist safety cover and first aid services at road events. Ian, who is also a coach driver for Winstanley College described the Bike Marshals as ‘one big family’.
IT Director Colin had some useful advice for students regarding road safety. ‘A good exercise is to count the number of cyclists and motorcyclists that students see during their bus ride home. This raises their awareness of cyclists and bikers, enabling them to spot such motorists sooner when they eventually become drivers themselves’.
The Bike Marshals safely escorted around six hundred motorbikes and scooters from Edge Lane, Liverpool to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Thank you to everyone who made donations.
