This week we are catching up with Laura who left Winstanley in 2016 and is now working for Elysium Healthcare at a secure hospital in Warrington.
Laura says: ‘I left Winstanley in 2016 and went on to Edge Hill University to study Learning Disabilities Nursing.
During my time at uni I was a recipient of the Chancellor’s Scholarship for my contribution to the university and my course. Part of my work involved visiting Winstanley and delivering talks on applying for nursing at Edge Hill.
I graduated in December 2019 with a 2:1 and I’m now working for Elysium Healthcare in a secure hospital in Warrington.
When asked about her time at college, The former Our Lady’s Queen of Peace student reminisced saying; ‘I studied Maths, History and Health and Social in college. My fond memories of Winstanley were sitting on the lockers in science with the friends I made during my time, and setting up an Instagram account in history for William of Poitiers which is still active now I believe.’
Laura has very kindly offered to come in and chat to our students about her career and we hope to take her up on the offer very soon.
