Three performing arts students from Winstanley College are one step closer to realising their dreams of a career on the stage.
Oliver Bullen, Hannah Blezard and Hannah Dootson have secured places at 3 performing arts institutions which are amongst the most prestigious in the country.
Oliver, 18 and previously a pupil of Hindley High School, has been awarded a place at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland whose alumni include the likes of David Tennant and James McAvoy. During his time at Winstanley, Oliver had starring roles in productions of Legally Blonde and The Addams Family and took part in The National Theatre Connections festival. It has been a particularly exciting time for Oliver, since he was also offered a place at The Guildford School of Acting.
Hannah Blezard and Hannah Dootson both 18, have secured places at The Italia Conti and Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) respectively.
Hannah Blezard, a former pupil of St Mary’s Catholic High School in Leigh, will be studying on the 3-year Trinity College London Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre. Hannah Dootson, formerly of Fred Longworth High School, will be studying Acting at LIPA.
Both girls starred in all of the college productions: Hannah B was the dance choreographer for The Addams Family and performed as a Delta Nu in Legally Blonde, while Hannah D had major acting roles in both shows.
Lisa Baty, who taught all three students during their time at Winstanley said: ‘We couldn’t be prouder of Oliver and the two Hannahs. They have wowed everybody at college with their performance skills and it is no wonder they have been awarded places at some of the top performance colleges in the country. We’re all excited to see where the next step in their education takes them – I’m sure we’ll be seeing them in some major productions in the future.’
