Year 12 Biologists have been busy completing the online Intermediate Biology Olympiad. A record 187 students have participated in the national competition which is run by The Royal Society of Biology.
Parents and older siblings have been acting as invigilators so the test, designed to stretch students’ knowledge and understanding of biology, could be completed at home.
Biology teacher, Jo Convery said: ‘Each year Winstanley students enjoy great success in the Olympiad and lockdown hasn’t put a stop to it – in fact it’s meant we’ve had our highest ever number of students enter. A big well done to all the students for getting involved.’
The results of the Olympiad will be published on 22nd June and shortly afterwards students will receive their certificates.
