Today’s #ThrowbackThursday is another of our #NHSHeroes, Dr Nill Tavangar, MBBS, MSc (Hons), who was a Winstanley student between 2009 and 2011.
Nill, who came to Winstanley from Golborne High School studied for A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics.
She says: ‘My favourite part of Winstanley would have to be how sociable it was. It was such supportive environment to study. It really felt like a little community. After completing my college studies I went on to do Medicine at Hull York Medical School. I also completed a 1 year intercalated Master’s degree between my 4th and 5th years in Clinical Anatomy.
Now I am a Foundation Year 2 Doctor in Scarborough Hospital. In the recent months I’ve been working in the Acute Medical Unit or General Medicine. I have mainly worked on wards where patients with COVID stay. It’s been a really challenging time. Meanwhile, it has brought the healthcare staff so much closer as a team and taught us so much. I’m soon starting a job as Clinical Teaching Fellow at Hull York Medical School, where I will be teaching medical students for a year.’
Thanks for taking time to get in touch Nill, we are very proud of everything you have achieved!
