Social media marketing is an essential part of every modern company’s marketing plan and there has been an explosion of job opportunities within the sector over the past few years.
Chloe Crompton, 21, is one young person benefitting from one of the many training schemes on offer within the industry. After completing A-levels in English, Spanish and Theatre Studies at Winstanley College, Chloe joined The Skills Company as a social media marketing trainee and completed a Level 3 Diploma in Social Media and Digital Marketing.

Chloe was quickly promoted to her current job role as Business Development Executive and as part of this she has completed a Foundation Degree in Business and Management She is now working towards a BA (Hons) in Business and Management.
Last week, Chloe returned to her former college to share her experience of taking the apprenticeship route after A-levels and to give an insight into the world of digital media. She commented: ‘I’ve enjoyed being back at college and chatting to students about my journey post A-levels. The training scheme with The Skills Company has been fantastic; having the opportunity to study for a degree whilst being employed is the best of both worlds. Social Media is an ever growing industry and there are always new developments to get up to speed with – it’s never boring.’
Chloe’s visit was one of many talks planned for the academic year by college careers adviser, Tony Dann.
