In another first for Winstanley College, we were chosen to represent young people across the Northwest at the Young Citizens' Action Agenda NW Launch Event.

The debate was hosted by BBC North West Tonight presenter Ranvir Singh and included Winstanley students on the panel. The topics discussed were politics, economics and citizenship. The aim of the programme is to encourage young people to become active citizens and take part in the democratic process.

Political awareness champion and politics teacher Saqib Mehrban: 'It was a very valuable experience for our students to articulate their views on the issues that affect their daily lives.'
