Community Day

Winstanley is keen to enhance the community and help others. And that includes internationally. 17 children and 2 interpreters from Belarus came to college as part of a programme to help improve their lives. The tragedy of Chernobyl means that the average life expectancy for these children is 32. But trips like this boost their immune system and add years to their lives. More locally, students painted a mural at Willow Grove special needs school in Ashton.  And in college, an event called Fashion Favours involved students making clothes to be sold at Wigan and Leigh Hospice. In the world of conservation, students went to Elnup Woods to help Groundwork Trust with planting and landscaping.
