Dear Parents

On the morning of Monday 30th January and the afternoon of Thursday 3rd February all A2 students will be sitting their General Studies exams.

In order to accommodate around 1000 students in appropriate exam conditions we have to use all the College’s classrooms which unfortunately means we have to cancel the AS lessons between 9am and 11am on Monday and between 2.30pm and 4pm on Thursday.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Mel Chadwick
Vice Principal

Many students are beginning to receive invitation to interview, offers or rejections from universities.  However, the time it takes for decisions to be made varies and even if your son or daughter applied very early, universities and colleges have until early May to decide and all decisions are posted by UCAS onto track (students have their own log in details to access this).

Once replies have been received from all the universities your son or daughter must decide which to accept as their Firm and insurance choice and which ones they are going to decline.  The deadline for replying to offers depends on when UCAS received the decisions from universities, so students may have different deadlines from their friends.  This date will be clearly displayed in track.

We recommend students wait until after the results of the January exams (8th March) before making any decisions.  Subject teachers will be able to advise about what grades they can realistically hope for (firm) and what they can realistically count on (insurance).

For more information about replying to offers please go to:  http://www.ucas.com/students/offers/replyingtoyouroffers
