When you first come to Winstanley College, you will be welcomed at Induction by your Personal Tutor. Our aim is that you will have the same Personal Tutor for your two years at college so that staff and students get to know each other well.
Your Personal Tutor who will guide you through your time at college. They will monitor your attendance; review and encourage your progress and help to guide you on your choices for the future. Your Personal Tutor is the first person that you would go to for advice and support, and we have an appointments-booking system via student Services.
You will follow a schedule of group Guidance sessions which cover a range of topics including health and wellbeing, academic progress / monitoring and citizenship.
You will also have a number of 1-1s with your Personal Tutor where you will review your recent progress in your subjects and set targets to help you achieve. These 1-1s also provide the opportunity to discuss any support that you might benefit from, either academic or pastoral, and to discuss your progression options for after college.
