What is an Associate Student?
Winstanley’s Associate Students are ambitious Year 9 to 11 pupils from partner high schools. Associate Students receive guest lectures at school from Winstanley’s experienced staff and also participate in masterclasses and specialist workshops at the college.
What do they do?
Most Associate Students take part in 3-5 events at college, including A-Level subject masterclasses – study skills workshops and high flyers sessions. Examples of what Winstanley’s current Associate Students are taking part in include:
Student Leadership Conference
Flash Bang Science Show
Medical Mavericks Workshop
Masterclasses in a range of subject areas
We have a number of masterclasses opening up in 2017, open to students from all our local schools.
Why become an Associate Student?
Becoming an Associate Student is a great way to get a head start and prepare for a high-flying college education. You will get a taste of what it is like to be a college student and make contacts that can help to further your prospects. You’ll also get full access to our Moodle site, where you’ll be able to access lots of our specialist resources to help you make a more informed choice about which subjects to study after you leave school.
