Winstanley College named one of the country's best state sixth form colleges

Winstanley College have been recognised by The Times as one of the country’s best state sixth forms. which is done by % of students achieving AAB in facilitating subjects, 2022 results.

Out of 75 state sixth forms Winstanley have ranked 25th on the list, placing the College within the top 3 state sixth forms in Greater Manchester. The rankings are calculated by percentage of students achieving AAB in facilitating subjects (2022 A-level results).

Winstanley College students consistently achieve their best with 940 achieving A*/ A grades at A Level and 65% of all students achieving A*-B grades (3-year average). 63% of students studying vocational subjects achieve a Distinction* or Distinction (3-year average).

Each year, over 800 students progress to university, almost 300 of which are Russel Group institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge. Many others go on to study incredibly competitive university courses and high-level apprenticeships.
