Jamie Graney

UK student recruitment officer

Back

We caught up with former student, Jamie Graney, this week when he came back to college in his current role as UK student recruitment officer for Liverpool University.

Jamie, a former Golborne High pupil, studied History, English Language and Literature and Philosophy and Religion at Winstanley between 2008 and 2010. He then went on to study History at Lancaster University, followed by a master’s degree.

He has worked in his role at Liverpool University for 7 years and most enjoys getting out and about to recruitment events and chatting to prospective students.

Jamie will be taking over Winstanley’s social media for a day on 16th April to answer any questions students may have about uni.

Jamie said:

‘The best thing about Winstanley apart from making lots of friends, was how passionate and accessible my teachers were. They were all devoted to their subjects and ready to help and discuss things to further deepen understanding and prepare you for university.

My advice to current students thinking about university would be to explore your universities ask questions about everything from accommodation to health and wellbeing support, student destinations and everything in between. Go to uni open days and attend all the HE/careers fairs you can here in college.’

Jamie shared a photo with us in his role of student ambassador at Winstanley in 2009.
