Introducing V-levels

As part of its commitment to providing innovative, future-focused learning opportunities, Winstanley College is excited to introduce V-levels from September 2027.

V-levels are new qualifications designed to combine academic study with industry-relevant knowledge and skills. They are intended to help students prepare for university, apprenticeships and employment by developing specialist expertise in areas where there is growing demand for highly skilled professionals.

Unlike T-levels, which make up a full study programme equivalent to three A-levels, V-levels are designed to be studied alongside other qualifications. They could be combined with A-levels, Diplomas, Extended Certificates or other V-levels to create a personalised programme equivalent in size to three A-levels.

The proposed V-level in Digital Systems and Data is designed for students interested in technology, computing and the growing importance of data in today's digital world.

Students develop an understanding of how digital systems are designed, managed and used, alongside the skills needed to collect, analyse and interpret data. The qualification supports progression to university courses, apprenticeships and careers in areas such as data analytics, software development, cyber security and digital technology.
