A former Winstanley College student has secured a top job with ITV at the age of just 18.

Nathan Sanders who is from Wigan and a former Hawkley Hall High School pupil, completed his A-levels in Film Studies, Media and Photography, just last year. During his time at college, Nathan balanced his studies with freelance employment working on shows such as Princess Mirror Belle (CBBC), Waterloo Rd (BBC), and Lagging (CBBC).

Shortly before finishing college, Nathan secured a role with ITV working on the legendary soap Coronation Street. He is a senior runner and has even had the opportunity to work as 3rd Assistant Director to cover illness.

Nathan recently returned to college to support and inspire current media students, including Olivia Davies, who has ambitions to work in a similar role. Olivia filmed and edited an interview with Nathan which is now available on the Winstanley College website.

Olivia said: ‘I really enjoyed directing, filming, and editing the video with Nathan. It’s encouraging to hear how hard work and dedication pays off in this industry, even at such a young age.’

Nathan congratulated Olivia on her work, commenting ‘Olivia has done an incredible job with this video ‘I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out.’
