Come and see Phil!
Gaining experience with an employer can be highly beneficial. From confirming an interest (or not!) in a career to being a foot in the door, a work placement can have a huge impact on future decisions.
For some industries, such as media production, the most usual route in is through work experience before landing a junior position.
Nathan Sanders, who left Winstanley just last year, is a great example of this. After building his portfolio up with experience at the BBC and ITV, Nathan landed a prestigious role as a senior runner on Coronation Street.
Our work experience Co-ordinator, Phil Morgan is here to support you with finding placements. Based in student services, you can book an appointment to see him via: work.experience@winstanley.ac.uk . A work experience drop-in will also be available in A Corridor every Monday lunch time after February half term.
Phil said: ‘We have excellent links with organisations in the local area and beyond. Winstanley students are already making a positive impression on employers, further cementing and growing opportunities for the future. Whatever industry you are interested in, I can help you get the experience you need, so please do come and see me.’
