Winstanley College is proud to announce it has been named runner-up in the Skills and Employability category at the prestigious Sixth Form Colleges Awards 2025. This national recognition celebrates the College’s exceptional work in preparing students for future success through a dynamic and inclusive programme of enrichment, careers education, and employer engagement.

The College’s Enrichment, Careers and Work Experience Programme stood out for its breadth and impact, offering students meaningful experiences with top employers such as HSBC, BBC, BT, and Deloitte. From themed employability fairs and university engagement events to bespoke support for Oxbridge and apprenticeship pathways, Winstanley College continues to lead the way in developing student potential.

Principal Simon Lett said: “We are thrilled to be recognised at the Sixth Form Colleges Awards. Being named runner-up in the Skills and Employability category is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the ambition of our students. Our aim is for students to leave us with the skills, confidence and experiences they need to thrive in their future careers.”

Looking ahead, the recent launch of the College’s ‘Inspiring Futures’ programme will further expand employer-led curriculum initiatives and strengthen commitment to student development and regional skills needs.
