Throwback Thursday - Beth Hurst
Back
Former Winstanley College and Byrchall High School student, Beth Hurst, recently got in touch to update us on her incredible journey since leaving Winstanley back in 2014.
Beth told us:
‘I studied English Literature, English Language and Maths during my time at Winstanley. I absolutely loved my time at college, particularly in the English department where my writing was really nurtured and encouraged.
After Winstanley, I went on to study English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Warwick, where I achieved a First-Class degree and was awarded the top mark in my cohort. I now live and work in London for a global media company called Zenith, part of Publicis Groupe, where I have grown into the role of Content Marketing Director. This means I manage an award-winning team that produces online editorial content for global brands like Disney, Essity, Lindt, Monzo and Accor.
Alongside my career, I’ve been studying for a Mst in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford. It's been brilliant to strengthen my writing even further, and I have had a few bits of success so far with having poetry published in journals! I was also recently honoured to be named in Campaign Media Week’s 30 Under 30, which celebrates rising stars in the media industry.’
Thank you, Beth, for sharing your story and inspiring the next generation of Winstanley students! If you’re a former student and would like to share your story, please get in touch or join our alumni network: https://forms.office.com/e/2yvBTer93b
