Many congratulations to Kian Ainscough and Elizabeth Bennett who have won the History department’s ‘Why is the Holocaust relevant today?’ essay competition.

Both students wrote passionate and eloquent arguments which highlighted the importance of remembering the Holocaust and made thoughtful links to contemporary global events. Their success has earned them a place on the Lessons From Auschwitz Holocaust Ambassadors course.

This prestigious programme includes learning about the Holocaust, alongside a day visit to Poland to take part in a historical tour of Auschwitz and the surrounding area. Following this, Kian and Elizabeth will take on the important role of Holocaust Ambassadors, helping to educate their peers about the events of the Holocaust and to encourage reflection on how such horrors can be prevented in the future.

Congratulations on your achievement and the powerful message it carries for our College community.
