Throwback Thursday - Anthony Brockley
Chief Revenue Officer, Inspera
This week we catch up with Anthony Brockley, a former Lowton High School pupil, attended Winstanley from 1996-1998. He is now the Chief Revenue Officer of an education technology business named Inspera that provides digital assessment and academic integrity solutions to awarding bodies and higher education institutions globally.
Anthony says: ‘During my time at Winstanley, I studied Business Studies, Modern History, Philosophy and Religion, and General Studies. After completing my A Levels, I went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Economics at Lancaster University. My passion has always been pushing the boundaries of global business growth and delivering customer excellence.
I found limitless opportunities to develop my skills at BAE Systems through their Graduate Development Programme. That role really helped me transition from university life into the workplace, surrounded by a group of people who were on the same journey.
In my mid-twenties, I moved from Portsmouth and the defence industry to London and the financial services sector. Over the next 17 years, I built my career in technology sales—starting as a sales development representative and eventually progressing into international sales management at Broadridge. I had the opportunity to work on significant business deals with some of the world’s largest investment banks, including Deutsche Bank, Barclays, Bank of America, and Société Générale.
In 2023, after 22 years working in multinational corporations, I decided to make the move into the private equity world with Inspera, backed by CGE Partners. I felt it was the right time to challenge myself in a different ownership structure with new demands, which also came with the added complexity of entering a new industry sector: education.’
Anthony looks back incredibly fondly on his time at Winstanley and the people and teachers that he had the pleasure of getting to know. His two pieces of advice for pupils
‘Focus on building and developing skills and capabilities for the longer term as opposed to chasing quick wins - this has helped me to have a multi-industry international career. And always expect the unexpected - there will be setbacks and it's how you deal with them that counts.’
