Future Medics Celebrate University Offers
Back
Nineteen Winstanley College students have received offers to study Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science at university this September. This includes 17 aspiring medics, one veterinary student and one dentist, with offers from a range of prestigious universities.
Securing a place on a Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science course requires exceptional academic performance, alongside hours of commitment outside of the classroom.
The successful students have all taken part in Winstanley College’s MDV programme, which provides support throughout the application process. Students on the programme benefit from guidance from alumni, talks by practising professionals, support with personal statements and interview practice. Enrichment opportunities such as ‘Operation Diagnosis’, the STEM poster competition and laboratory work with the University of Liverpool enable students to apply their learning in real-world contexts.
Dave Woods, Head of Extended Curriculum, commented: “This year’s MDV students have demonstrated real commitment and determination in working towards their goals. Alongside their strong academic performance, they have shown resilience, maturity and a genuine motivation to pursue careers where they can make a difference. We are very proud of what they have achieved.”
Principal Simon Lett added: “We are thrilled for the students who have secured offers in such a competitive field. Their success reflects not only academic ability, but also their determination, compassion and ambition. At the same time, we are seeing offers coming into College across a wide range of subjects and sector areas, which highlights the breadth of talent within our student community.”
This year’s results continue Winstanley College’s strong track record of supporting students into highly competitive university courses and highlight the College’s commitment to helping learners achieve their ambitions.
