Winstanley College is delighted to announce that it has successfully achieved AcSEED re-accreditation for 2026–2029, recognising the College’s continued commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students, staff, and parents/carers. The AcSEED review team praised the College’s strong and evolving approach to wellbeing, highlighting the clear evidence of continuous improvement across its mental health and wellbeing provision.

In their assessment, reviewers commended a number of areas including the College’s strengthened mental health leadership, extensive staff training, close partnership with the Mental Health Support Team, student Mental Health and Wellbeing Advocates, enhanced peer mentoring and transition activities, as well as dedicated initiatives such as Wellbeing Fairs, Staff Wellbeing Wednesdays, and targeted support through the Nurture Room. The review also recognised the College’s strong Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy and the accessibility of this information for students and families through the College website.

Victoria Morgan, Assistant Principal for Support for Students, said: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved AcSEED re-accreditation for a further three years. Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students is at the heart of everything we do, and this award reflects the dedication of our staff, student advocates and partner organisations who work together to create a supportive, inclusive and nurturing environment. We are committed to continually developing our provision to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive both personally and academically.”

The AcSEED Accreditation Committee noted that Winstanley College continues to demonstrate a “very strong commitment towards Mental Health and Wellbeing support”, with wellbeing provisions being continually refined and extended. This latest accreditation provides further reassurance to current and prospective students and their families that Winstanley College places wellbeing at the centre of the student experience.
