Winstanley College was delighted to welcome students, families, staff and guests to its annual Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening, a special event recognising the achievements of Lower Sixth students across all subject areas.

The awards celebrated academic success, dedication and commitment, alongside a number of special awards presented in memory of former members of staff, recognising students who have made exceptional contributions beyond the classroom.

The evening brought together the College community to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students and reflected the talent, ambition and hard work that define life at Winstanley College. Guests enjoyed inspiring speeches, outstanding student performances from Tess Raynor and Kou Halpin, and the opportunity to recognise the achievements of this year's award recipients alongside their families and friends.

The College would like to thank Michelle Grundy of Bloom4Seasons for her support in helping make the evening feel so special. Michelle's kindness and assistance were greatly appreciated, particularly as she was also supporting a Hawkley Hall High School student on work experience on the day of the event.

Thanks also go to Ross Winstanley of Standards of the Wiend, Wigan, for supplying and engraving the College's new suite of award trophies, which looked fantastic on the evening.

Jolene Carter, College Operations Manager and event organiser, said:

"Our Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening is always one of the highlights of the College calendar, and it was a privilege to organise this year's event. Thank you to all the colleagues, local businesses and guests who helped make the evening such a success, to our Principal, Simon Lett, for leading the event, and to our keynote speaker, Amanda Crook, Executive Editor of the Manchester Evening News.

Most importantly, I am incredibly proud of every award recipient. It was wonderful to celebrate their achievements with their families and friends, and I am already looking forward to next year's event."

Congratulations to all of this year's award winners. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and look forward to seeing their continued success throughout their time at Winstanley College.
