Eleven Winstanley College sport students represented the North West region at the AoC Sport National Championships in Nottingham over the weekend of the 23-24th April.

Our Women's Volleyball team led by birthday girl Isabelle Aaron achieved the college's highest finish in the sport, narrowly missing out on the bronze medal as they finished fourth overall. The girls played some great Volleyball over the weekend and we’re proud of their achievements.

Tennis student Jan Sullivan competed for a hybrid team in a very strong field and battled till the end in every match. Badminton students Liam Young, Martha Owens and Verity Haslam helped the North West to a 4th place finish overall.

Tennis student Jan had this to say about the weekend 'I really enjoyed the weekend and being given the opportunity to represent the college in such a high standard of competition.'

Sport Enrichment Officer Ben Rutherford had the following to say about the event 'The students did the college proud and were a pleasure to coach all weekend. The weekend had everything... sport, nice weather and plenty of laughs. After a tough few years for everyone it was great to see so many smiling faces. I can't wait to do it all again next year!'
