Winstanley Extra

Winstanley Extra is the name we give our huge enrichment programme, that is all the clubs, societies, sports teams and extra qualifications you can get involved in outside of your lessons!

With competition for university courses, apprenticeships and jobs increasing, being able to show a wide range of skills and interests can separate you from the crowd. More importantly, taking part in enrichment is a release from your studies and is excellent for your physical and mental wellbeing. It is also a chance to make new friends and create some lasting memories of your time at college.

From awareness raising in BAME and LQBTQ+ societies to debating, bee keeping and performing arts, you are sure to find something that takes your interest. A range of sports are available whether you want to train casually or join a college team. Our sports teams compete in both regional and national competitions and we have a history of great success.

We offer all our students a FREE gym membership. You can use the gym during free periods and at lunchtimes. The gym has treadmills, step and rowing machines, free weights and assisted weight machines so can cater for all student needs. To use the college gym, you simply need to sign up for a gym membership at the Freshers’ Fair and then attend a short 10-minute gym induction that covers the rules and safety procedures.

Winstanley Extra is always looking to improve its enrichment programme and we welcome ideas from students. If there is an activity we do not offer and that you would like to organise, our Enrichment Officer is always open to ideas!
