Winstanley College Students Celebrate Success in Cambridge HE+ Project 2025
Back
Winstanley College is proud to announce that a group of talented Year 12 students have been awarded certificates for successfully completing the prestigious HE+ Project 2025, an initiative led by the University of Cambridge in collaboration with partner schools and colleges across the UK.
The HE+ Project is designed to stretch and challenge high-achieving students, offering opportunities to explore subjects beyond the standard A-level curriculum. Throughout the programme, Winstanley students took part in a range of academic extension activities and masterclasses, deepening their subject knowledge and developing skills that will serve them well in higher education. They also undertook a research project culminating in an academic poster, showcasing their ability to work at degree level and think critically about complex topics.
In addition to these academic challenges, students benefited from university preparation sessions covering applications, interviews, and study skills, giving them valuable insights into what life is like at top universities. A highlight of the programme was the Cambridge residential experience, where students attended subject-specific masterclasses and explored the historic university campus, gaining first-hand exposure to the world of higher education.
The HE+ Project aims to boost confidence and aspirations, equipping students with the skills and experiences that make their applications to competitive universities stand out.
Congratulations to all our students for their hard work and dedication!
