Bethany Marsh

Assistant psychologist

Back

This week we are catching up with former Lathom High and Winstanley College student Bethany Marsh who currently works as an assistant psychologist within a crisis team.

Bethany attended Winstanley College from 2014 to 2016 studying Psychology, English Language and Biology. Following on from her time at Winstanley, Bethany went on to study Psychology (BSc Hons) at Edge Hill University, where she graduated with First Class Honours! Bethany didn’t stop there; at present, she is doing a master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Manchester.

Whilst completing her studies, Bethany has gained extensive clinical experience working with children and adults within the mental health sector and is currently working as an Assistant Psychologist within a crisis team. She describes herself as driven and dedicated: two key attributes of a Winstanley student! Equipped with skills in leadership, communication and data analysis, Bethany hopes to pursue a career in neuropsychology. Once her master’s is complete, Bethany needs to achieve a doctorate and then she’ll be fully qualified. Wow!

When asked what advice she would give to students thinking of joining Winstanley, Bethany said:

‘Don’t let the new found freedom of not being in classes all the time distract you from what’s important; it’s a big jump, seek support and always do practice papers!’
