Caitlin Morgan

Psychology teacher

Back

This week’s Throwback Thursday shines a spotlight on Caitlin Morgan, who first joined Winstanley College as a student in 2020 and is now returning as one of our newest Psychology teachers. Her journey—from learning in our classrooms to preparing to teach in them—perfectly captures the supportive, inspiring atmosphere that Winstanley is known for.

Caitlin says:
“I went to St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School before joining Winstanley in 2020. During my two years here, I studied Psychology, Spanish, and Philosophy and Religion.

After College, I went on to study BSc Educational Psychology at Edge Hill University. I did some online tutoring alongside my degree and even returned to Winstanley in my first year to deliver a session to Upper Sixth students about what university life is like. I graduated in July 2025.

I’m now completing my teacher training with Edge Hill University and doing my placement here at Winstanley. I recently interviewed at the College too, and I’m really excited to be starting employment here after Easter.

In the future, I’d love to continue teaching in the FE sector—hopefully at Winstanley—because I love the department and the supportive community.

To future students thinking about joining Winstanley, I’d say the College will give you opportunities you might not have even considered. You’ll build amazing relationships with staff and students, find friends for life, and receive endless support to help you succeed.

For anyone considering a teaching career, the training might feel long, but if you’re passionate about your subject, it’s incredibly rewarding. You meet new people and build confidence quickly..

My biggest piece of advice is to choose subjects you genuinely enjoy. It’s so much easier to put in the effort when you’re truly interested. And talk to people — building a sense of community makes every stage of education so much more fun.”
